About the Artist

Nancy Lewis is a landscape artist based in Palisade, Colorado, whose work is inspired by the dramatic beauty of the Colorado Plateau and the places she has explored around the world. She works in a variety of media, including pastel, oil, acrylic, and watercolor, with a particular love for painting outdoors (plein air) to capture the changing light and atmosphere of the landscape.
An avid cyclist and adventurer, Nancy has ridden more than 20,000 self-supported miles on bicycle tours across the United States and around the world. Wherever her travels she always brings along a small watercolor kit, capturing the landscapes, villages, and memorable moments that inspire future paintings.
Nancy's artwork reflects her passion for exploration, the outdoors, and the quiet beauty found in both sweeping vistas and intimate scenes. Through her paintings, she hopes to share the sense of wonder and connection to nature that she experiences on her travels and close to home in Western Colorado.
